Platform Cart

This is a 4-wheel platform cart that I built to help move heavy crap around the shop. It's surface is 18"x24" and is made entirely out of stuff I had laying around:

• 18"x24" 3/4" MDF
• 2x 18" 2x6s
• 4 casters (two swivel, two fixed) salvaged off of the old welder cart
• Two pieces of black gas pipe, welded into a T handle
• A floor flange to mount the gaspipe to the surface

Additionally, the surface is sprayed with a can of anti-skid coating. Construction is very basic, but it works well. Ron suggest that I should have put the swivel casters at the handle end, but I was trying to replicate a shopping cart. If I'd had more gas pipe, I would have doubled up on the vertical supports, as the handle is sometime mushy when starting a heavy load. Not a big deal, though.
