Post:A Special Order Hell...
From Fusselman.org
There will be no industrial particleboard :( I called Menards today to have them order me 3 sheets of "industrial grade" (aka High Density) particleboard and learned that their special order process is just dumb. For 3 sheets of particle board (like $45), they wanted faxed, signed "purchase order" forms, and really didn't want to do it by phone very bad at all. Even after all that, they couldn't guarantee delivery by Tuesday (the day I'll have a vehicle to pick it up), as the distribution center was out of stock.
I suppose this means that I've got to settle for the not-so-industrial stuff, and save a few bucks a sheet (< $2 difference). I'll be honest, though, I might just try and convince Lowes or Home Depot to price-match (the non-industrial grade), just to "vote with my pocketbook", even though I generally prefer Menards over either of them.
