Post:Becky Discovers!

On Friday, after Becky and I got home from the gym, She noticed the scooter in the front of the garage. It had been hiding there in front of my car for a few weeks, but she'd never noticed... I'd picked up the Schwinn S-500 electric scooter a few weeks ago off Craigslist for $20... At the time, it wasn't running, but a few bucks on ebay scored a fresh pair of 12ah SLA batteries. The stock scooter keeps a pair of 7ah batteries (which are a bit smaller) inside the main deck, and the 12s dont fit quite right, so I'm in the process of building a new deck lid to accommodate the slightly taller (and much longer running) batteries.

At first, I'd sort of wondered what Becky was going to think of the scooter, but she seems very enthused. She did the "kid on Christmas" face after her first spin around the neighborhood.

In other news, Becky and I went to the Peach Festival in Nebraska City and picked over 36 pounds of peaches. I'm not entirely sure what we're going to do with them, but I suspect she'll find a tasty use.
