The Venetian Hotel – Las Vegas

October 14, 2011

I was recently in Las Vegas for work, and stayed at The Venetian [hotel].  While the hotel is technically owned and operated by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, it’s also an Intercontinental Alliance resort. Overall, the hotel was fantastic, and immaculately decorated.  This is going to sound funny, but at one point, I stopped an employee to ask  for directions and was a bit surprised when he didn’t sound Italian.

The hotel’s designers went to amazing lengths and expense to recreate Venice, and while it felt a bit commercialized at times, I feel that it was a pretty good facsimile.

Read on for some more description and photos.

Even though I didn’t have my real camera with me, I decided to snap a few photos of the room, as is Becky and I’s custom when we travel.   Overall, the room was very large, and well kept.  As is now typical, the bed was very comfortable, with a down blanket and a variety of pillows.  The room that I had was starting to show its age, though, especially the carpets; Without further ado, the photos (some are obviously not of the room, but of the hotel at large):
